Tournament Rules

  1. All entrants must be a current member of U.S.T.A.
  2. USTA/Norcal rules of play will govern this tournament.
  3. The USTA Point Penalty System will be in effect throughout the tournament.
  4. Players are responsible for determining their match start times from the posted draws. If your name does not appear on the draw, call the director.
  5. A 15 minute default rule will be strictly enforced.
  6. Players are requested to check in at the Tournament Desk 15 minutes before their match start time.
  7. Players must turn off all cell phones and other electronic communication gear before their match starts.
  8. Player must wear proper tennis attire.
  9. All matches will be best of 3 sets with ad scoring. The set tie breaker will be used at 6-all. The Single Elimination draw will be used.
  10. Play will commence at 8:00 a.m. on May 24.
  11. Block seeding will be used for the MS, MD and WS events if the draw size is sufficient. All players who get block seeded will not play on Friday, May 24.
  12. Players may not enter more than two events.
  13. No doubles entry accepted without a partner's name.
  14. Cash prizes awarded to those entered as professionals. Prize money awarded to players only if they compete and not withdraw from the round that resolves their position.
  15. USTA NORCAL No Show Default Policy: A player must notify the tournament director of a default at least 24 hours in advance of play. The 24-hour advance notice requirement is to give the tournament committee sufficient time to notify the opposing player(s) of the default. Those default situations that are not known as early as 24 hours in advance (i.e. illness, injury, etc.) must be called in as soon as possible, will be subject to a 30-day suspension, and can be appealed. If a player shows validation of illness or injury and calls sufficiently prior to the scheduled match, the suspension will be dismissed.

Waiver of Responsibility

Each entrant agrees to the following terms:

Acceptance on my entry in these events is without assumption of responsibility of any kind by the USTA, the USTA Norcal, the host club, committee or the management of any event in which I may be entered or may participate.

MEDICAL RELEASE: I hereby consent to the rendering of emergency first aid and other medical procedures which at the time of the injury or illness seems reasonably advisable. I further understand that I will be responsible for payment of any such medical procedures.

In consideration of the acceptance on my entry, I hereby agree to abide by all applicable USTA rules and regulations and the USTA Norcal Code of Ethics

Checking Your Registration

You can check that your on-line entry has been successfully processed by going to the on-line TennisLink system and checking to see that your name appears on the "The Applicants" and "The Competitors" lists for the events that you have entered. If you have entered into a doubles event, you should also check to see that your doubles partner's name appears on the appropriate doubles event list and is listed as your partner. If not, please contact your partner immediately to let them know that he or she must also entered into the tournament and be listed as your doubles partner. The dead line for registering is Tuesday, May 14th. If you have any questions, please call the tournament director.

Draws will be posted by midnight Tuesday, May 21 and can be viewed at Cuesta Tennis Center or on-line at TennisLink or at this web site.

Checking Start Time

Players are responsible for checking their first match time on the draws. If your name does not appear on the draw, call the tournament director. The tournament will not be mailing out a post card to you with this information.

Directions

Cuesta Park is located in the City of Mountain View, a half mile south of EL Camino Real between Grant Road and Miramonte Blvd.

Dumbarton Bridge Closure
Please note that the entire Dumbarton Bridge will be closed during the 2012 Memorial Day weekend for seismic retrofit work.
From Hwy 85 Northbound
Exit at El Camino Real. Drive North toward Mountain View. Turn Left at Grant Road. Turn Right on Cuesta Drive and continue a couple of blocks to the first light. Turn Left into Cuesta Park.
From Hwy 85 Southbound
Exit at Grant Road. Continue on Grant Road after crossing El Camino Real for 1/4 mile. Turn Right on Cuesta Drive and continue a couple of blocks to the first light. Turn Left into Cuesta Park.
From Hwy 237
Hwy 237 ends in Mountain View and it becomes Grant Road when it crosses El Camino Real. Continue south on Grant Road for 1/4 mile. Turn Right on Cuesta Drive and continue a couple of blocks to the first light. Turn Left into Cuesta Park.
From Freeway 101
Exit at Shoreline Blvd. to Mountain View. Drive South on Shoreline Blvd. Cross El Camino Real and continue on Miramonte Blvd. Turn Left on Cuesta Drive. On the next light, turn Right into Cuesta Park.
From Freeway 280
Exit on Magdalena Dr. Continue on Springer Road. Turn Right at Cuesta Drive. Turn Right into Cuesta Park.

The Tennis Center is at the back of the parking lot.
